My name is Raymond Buckley, I am a professional private tutor teaching German, French and English as a foreign language in Greater Manchester / North East Cheshire.
I normally always come to the student's house but if that proves difficult for you and you prefer to come to my house, I simply ask that the student, if under-age is accompanied by an adult.
I have been providing private tuition in French and German since the mid-eighties when I returned to Manchester from living in France. I have taught all levels (beginner, Key Stages 3 and 4, GCSE, A-level and even post-degree). I have taught English as a foreign language since the mid nineties.
As a teacher I see my principle task as not so much as conveying information but more as encouraging and motivating students to learn, by making it enjoyable and interesting. Although all my students get good grades what really gives me the most job satifaction is seeing a student being turned round from having no interest in the language to being very interested, for example, deciding it would be a good idea to study at A-level.
I am fascinated by words, language and by communicating with those from other lands and have been so ever since my school days. This love of language usually enthuses my students, who then begin to discover just how interesting language is and how important it is to communicate effectively.
I hold a Certificate of Enhanced Disclosure (issued by the CRB, Criminal Records Bureau) formerly known as the Police check, which is available to see on request.
